His job composed of finding out what the situation was like on the ground, and reporting directly to the Secretary-General. He has done an amazing job of raising awareness to the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa. I attended a lecture featuring his son, Avi Lewis, a journalist.Apparently, Stephen is in therapy, because of the horrible stuff he witnessed in Africa, talking to ONE person. Avi joked that his therapy composed of speaking to thousands of people at a time.If you're curious, here's a YouTube link to his closing speech at the 2006 AIDS conference. He's such an amazing speaker.EDIT: Hang on, actually, this lecture is a better representation of what he has spoken about, telling it like it is:

This will give you a basic explanation of most things there are to know about the mechanics of stock investing including useful websites to surf.Investors Business Daily (IBD) is a solid daily resource (and its complement, www.investors.com ). It's a better newspaper than the Wall Street Journal and it is built around a particular approach to trading. You could read _How to Make Money in Stocks_ by William O'Neil too--he's the founder of IBD.Search your local library for other books on stock investing. Try to absorb as much knowledge and understanding as you can. After you have extensively researched and gained a solid foundation/education then look to open a brokerage account and paper trade--this is trading with play money before you put real capital at risk. You should do extensively before you eventually place your first trade live. Your early live trades should be with a very small position size. Only increase position size when you have done well to limit losses when the market has turned against you.

Don't trade a thing until you are thoroughly educated about the stock market.

An introductory book like _Stock Markets for Dummies_ is a good place to start. Dropping your resume at other shops does not take a long time. Do it at lunch or before you go to work. If they ask for an interview get one at lunchtime.LIfe is too short to work some place you do not enjoy what you do. If you can manage to get all of your certifications and required hours in then a job at a dealership as a technician would open up to you.

Further education is encouraged, and boss often bends over backward to help you when you're in school. No telling where you'd end up geographically, but you can put in for base of preference.Civil Engineering is similarto "construction mechanic" - there are all kinds of things you can go into... even high power electric. My ex restored power to the Baghdad airport after we took it back for the Iraqi people during the war.You could be a vehicle mechanic - that's not a bad job. But a mechanic is a mechanic - your work depends on what breaks. Up to you. If you wanted to learn something new, you could be a jet engine mechanic. Or you could be an aircraft mechanic (a crewchief). They can learn a lot of different aircraft depending on the base, and they learn maintenance on many systems. No shortage of work to do.But I was in the AF for 12 years, ex just retired, and husband is on year 16. Never regretted a minute.

Air Force. With today's extreme high level of technology that goes into the design, mechanics and computer systems on bikes....apprenticeships are basically non-existant, the ONLY way you will even get a foot in the door is if you have factory training from the manufacturer of the bikes that a shop deals with.
The ONLY way to get this is to go to school. MMI's Late Model Harley program consists of a basic general motorcycle technology course that MMI has established to teach you the general basics of all bikes, then you go into your choice of factory electives, Late Model HD is approximately $25,000, if you elect to take the Early model course, add another $10,000.2. No exp, no problem, that's what the school is for. Like I said above, their basic course is mandatory before any factory elective, this teaches you all the basics.3. Cost.....$25k and up, depending on how many factory electives you take. This can take from 1.5 - 3 years.4. Right now, due to the economy, the motorcycle industry is hurting BADLY and techs are NOT in high demand. I know people with 15-30 years experience that have been out of work for over a year. Right now, myself, I am under a guaranteed employment contract, but only work when needed and when I can due to an accident that left me partially disabled. Mainly now, I only build and tune engines.
The pay for entry-level m/c techs is very low, about $10/hr, but within a few years, if you have the skills, talent, and determination, you can make $50-100k a year, but anything over $40k is rare.
Auto mechanics are ALWAYS in demand and make 2-3 times as much money. Here is my answer to a similar question from a few hours ago.....Q: Witch should i got to wyotech or UTI? im going for something that involves motorcyclesA: It really depends on what you want to do. Is learning about bikes just for personal use, or do you want to work for a dealer. 99.9% of the time, a dealer will only hire you if you have been trained by the factory of the the bikes they sell.
MMI is the ONLY school that is authorized to teach Harley, BMW, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Suzuki. The factories have set up their own training programs and contracted UTI/MMI to teach them.
Wyotech is NOT authorized by these manufacturers and do not have the factory specific tooling and equipment neccessary to teach these bikes....only general work.
However, Wyotech IS factory authorized by Triumph and Ducati.
Power Sports Institute in Ohio, is the only school authorized by Victory and the Performance American V-Twin Engine maker S&S...they also have an excellent custom bike building and fabricating program.http://www.uti.edu/Programs/Motorcycle

1. It was a *Democratic* primary. Secondly, we here in South Carolina are no smarter nor any stupider than the people elsewhere. How did Alvin Greene win the primary? I have no idea, and neither does anyone else. What do I think of the primary elections? I think South Carolina needs to allow voters to register by party and limit participation to party members, and allow smaller parties to hold primaries too. We should also end the policy of requiring candidates to pay a huge filing fee and replace that with a petition requirement that can be met by a candidate with enough backers, or willing to put in the time themselves. Say 200 signatures for state House, 350 for state Senate, and 2000 for US Senate and other statewide races. Then require that all candidates participate in TV and radio debates sponsored by public TV and radio. Set up at least one forum for each candidate at every state college or university at no cost to the candidate. Send out a voter guide to every voter with each candidate allowed a small space to tell their story. Use Instant Run Off Voting to save the multi-million dollar cost of run offs.I know it's fun to get all high and mighty, or run my state down, but none of that will change the sorry state of our democracy. As for me, I'm voting for the only honest, common sense candidate in the race, Tom Clements. You can find his campaign website here: http://www.clementsforsenate.com

First of all, both of the candidates had a (D) next to their name. You just have to look at who most of the reporters are....sport players who spent too many hours on the field practicing their skills to score big and not in the classroom where they should have been.

The worst people in public view are sport announcers or half time reporters….They use so many words incorrectly/with bad English. Bush, Sr., knew it, too...which is why he pulled out very quickly after invading. Bush, Jr., though is a dumb, spoiled rich brat who's so incompetent, he can't even think for himself and has to let Cheney do all the work for him. This is dangerous because Cheney, a former CEO of Halliburton chose to invade Iraq for its oil and secure his company with the largest military contract ever, and start funneling the oil through his company for $$$ and back into his pockets. All this talk about liberating Iraq and bringing democracy to their country is just a bull$hit smoke cover that Cheney lets Bush promote to keep all the hard core Neo-Cons happy (and rich). It never had to do with freedom or democracy, but simply securing a country of the world's second largest oil supply. Bush & Cheney had an Iraq agenda BEFORE 9/11.

Frankly…as I knew all along…It was a mistake to go into Iraq to begin with.
